Hypocycloid Vase
thingiverse
Inspired by the 5-hypocycloid that can "roll" inside of a 6-hypocycloid (as demonstrated in the GIF below). To create the vase design, replace the z-axis with time for a rotation. ![hypocycloid](https://github.com/SmoothDragon/HypocycloidVase/blob/master/HypocycloidVase.gif) <img src="https://github.com/SmoothDragon/HypocycloidVase/blob/master/HypocycloidVase.gif" alt="Animated Design" title="A mesmerizing design in motion" width="150" height="100" /> If you view the vase from a specific angle down the z-axis, you can see the 6-hypocycloid that is generated as the 5-hypocycloid moves vertically. The rolling animation and source code are available on GitHub at [https://github.com/SmoothDragon/HypocycloidVase](https://github.com/SmoothDragon/HypocycloidVase). This design serves as a fundamental building block for my Hypocycloid Christmas Tree, which can be found on Thingiverse at [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4022593](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4022593).
