Hypnotoad theremin using VL53L1X laser sensor

My remix adds a VL53L1X laser sensor to brooksben11's "Motion-Triggered Hypnotoad with Sound"... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3944899 ( Note: I did not change anything to this thing other than scale it up to 150% of the original size in my slicer, Cura. ) I added the laser sensor mount to srbecerrita's "Hypnorock for Hypnotoad"... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3755555 using Thomx Ju's "VL53L0X Screwable Case"... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3763978 The VL53L1X I used fits this case perfectly but I did enlarge the opening for the sensor slightly. ( Note: in the photo, I left the sensor cover temporarily unpainted to make it easier to see ) To protect the wiring that runs to the sensor I made a bottom plate that can be glued to the bottom of the rock. Rather than use brooksben11's motion sensor electronics I instead set up the laser sensor to act as a Raspberry Pi theremin using rbnrpi's writeup at... https://rbnrpi.wordpress.com/new-sonic-pi-theremin-using-time-of-flight-laser-sensor/ I'm still working on the perfect sound for the toad. To flash the WS2811 LEDs I wrote a simple python script using the information at... https://learn.adafruit.com/neopixels-on-raspberry-pi/python-usage I believe it would be possible to flash the LEDs in sync with the sound but wanted to keep the setup as simple as possible. Hardware: WS2811 12mm Neopixel equivalents... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AG923GI I had some of these leftover from a previous project, I like them because they are cheap and come with all of the line/noise filtering components preinstalled. They fit snugly in the toad's head without glue ( again, the toad is scaled to 150% ).
