Life's a bitch, death's her sister; sleep's their cousin - quite the family portrait. Lil Wayne rapped about it in "6 Foot 7 Foot." This text is a scan of the Skulpturhalle Basel's cast of the British Museum's 1st-2nd century AD bronze head of Hypnos, the god of sleep. In 1909, T.E. Lawrence, also known as "Lawrence of Arabia," acquired an imperfect replica of this Hypnos head during his travels. He cherished it, describing how it would illuminate under the glow of coals in his curtained room. Lawrence's fate with the replica remains unknown, but a friend of Cosmo Wenman believes they own it. Wenman, who is on a quest for an interesting Hypnos copy, now possesses one himself. He shares that you can too, as he offers a 3D-printable file of the Skulpturhalle's Hypnos cast, captured with a FARO Edge Arm and post-processed in Blender. The video showcases his scanning, printing, and finishing process of an earlier version of this Hypnos copy. Wenman expresses gratitude to the Skulpturhalle Basel museum, FARO, Autodesk's Reality Capture division, and those who operated the laser during the scanning process.
