Hyperion Beetle - A Beetleweight Combat Robot

Hyperion Beetle - A Beetleweight Combat Robot

Hyperion Beetle is my first 3lb combat robot. It features Robot Matter brushless drive, a CP-2814 1450KV in the hub motor weapon powered by a 4s R-Line lipo, and a two-part body design. Unlike my antweights, the beetle of this namesake has only two wheels, although I may adjust the design in the future for the addition of two more. This is my first "Drisk" style robot, meaning two spinners are cantilevered on the outer faces of an inner hub. Although I'm not a fan of cantilevering in weapon systems, the keying features will minimize sheer loads upon the eight mounting bolts. Overall, I'm happy with my implementation of the successful elements featured in my antweights, while considering the necessary conformation to suit the beetle electronics.
