In geometry, a hypercube emerges as the n-dimensional equivalent of both a square (n = 2) and a cube (n = 3). This shape is a closed, compact, convex entity with its 1-skeleton composed of groups of opposite parallel line segments that run perpendicular to each other in each dimension and are all equal in length. The longest diagonal of a unit hypercube in n-dimensions is precisely the square root of n.
