Print & Plot Tool Holder Overview With this versatile tool holder, one can effortlessly switch between printing and plotting without swapping tool mounts ! The only adjustment needed is to lower or raise the pen in its holder to make it touch the surface or not. This carriage enables users to plot parts at full 1:1 scale before printing them ! It can even plot itself . This setup is particularly well-suited for large-scale implementations of the Hypercube, which support full-size paper when plotting. Swap Modes To switch from 3D-Printing to Plotting, simply lower the pen so that it's below the extruder. Then, manually home the carriage to a position where the pen tip is in contact with the surface. Finally, "print" the Gcode file of the drawing to plot. Generating Gcode Files The most efficient method for generating Gcode files is using the Gcode tools add-in for Inkscape. This tool has a "path-to-gcode" option that works seamlessly with this setup ! Remember to convert Inkscape drawings' entities to Paths first, as only paths are exported to Gcode in the end. Printing Notes Depending on the printer, it may be necessary to rework the holes slightly. Printed in PLA using a cold bed, draft quality, and 10% infill on the Hypercube.
