Hypercube Filament Guide With Filament Out Sensor
thingiverse
I wanted to enhance my Hypercube's functionality by incorporating a filament out sensor, so I revamped my filament guide to seamlessly integrate a microswitch into its design. The upper section of the guide is precision-cut to accommodate a 6mm tube that connects directly to the extruder. A three-conductor wire was run from the guide to my Duet board, where it was connected to the E0 sensor port. With just two wires needed, one providing power at 3.3V to the common terminal and another linked to the NC terminal on the microswitch, I ensured that the input goes high when the filament reaches its limit. This clever setup allows the printer to pause automatically, giving me ample time to load more filament before resuming the print with ease.
