Tech2C's Hypercube extruder makes use of a minimal number of added components and is relatively straightforward to get up and running, but it does come with its share of issues. I discovered that the idler wasn't always held close enough to the extruder gear, so I remixed the idler part in OpenSCAD to hold it closer. STLs for 0.5 mm and 1.0 mm less gap are available. I also decided to give it a shot on my A8, as the first bowden extruder I used with it (converted from the original direct extruder) had problems gripping some filaments and the geared extruder I tested with it (originally built for a Hypercube under construction) had backlash issues that affected retractions. OpenSCAD wanted nothing to do with the extruder body, so I figured out enough of MeshMixer to change the mount to what I've been using. As an intermediate step, there's also an extruder body without a mount that you can use as a starting point to adapt the extruder for other printers.
