I'm on the hunt for a better bed and I've come up with an unconventional tweak to boost the z-height to 220mm. My solution involves flipping the entire xy-gantry upside down. By inverting the motion mechanism, we can tap into the full potential of the z-shaft. The top position of the bed now aligns almost perfectly with the linear guides on the z-shaft when it touches the nozzle. Previously, there was some unused travel distance at the top of the z-shaft that wasn't being utilized. To make this work, simply print a 17mm spacer block and flip your entire gantry upside down. Don't forget to reverse the motor directions in Marlin. This modification frees up valuable real estate! I used to have it as part of my triple leadscrew bed project, but I decided to spin it off into its own thing.
