Hypercube Evolution XY carriage (NO Brass inserts needed and less rod play version)
thingiverse
NO inserts needed on this. It uses standard M3 nuts. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Hypercubeevolution/ It's been a while since I made these, but I think both versions use 8mm X axis rods, with the difference being one version uses 8mm X rods and the other uses 10mm Y rods. If you need a version that uses 10mm X axis rods, someone had remixed it on here somewhere. If you like this, you might also like the no brass inserts X carriage bearing holder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2436180 8.5.17 8mm X, 8mm Y...Remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2437440/#comment-1465527 I'm modifying the XY carriage to add stability to the 8mm x axis rods. I don't like how much play there is at the hot end with the stock carriage. If this doesn't fix the issue, I'll change to 10mm hollow bearing rods (not the carbon or aluminum crap people are using). I've added a generic belt tensioner for my belt that connects the two Z steppers. 8.7.17 I uploaded the Simplify3D .factory file with supports for the XY carriage that I created with Simplify3D for use on my 300x300mm Creality CR-10 printer. The carriages use standard M3x35mm screws with lock nuts, but you could get away with M3x30mm regular nuts if that's all you have available. *** The 3030 optical sensor board holder I didn't create. Just tossing it up for people to modify if it doesn't align with the flag. My machine doesn't have the standard 100mm carriage frame spacing, so I made a custom optical board sensor holder. *** 8.8.17 I added a Y flag with some cutouts to clear the screw nearby. Rev. 4,1 I added 10mm XY carriage and clamp. I need to print and test the 10mm version. 8.12.17 I added some stuff for a Z axis flag sensor holder that hangs from the 3030. It's not a standard Hypercube Evo length. ***** I added an X flag that is 0.5 thicker and 1mm longer to make up for the X carriage getting in the way of the flag a little. I prefer this X axis optical flag to the stock one. ***** 9.17.17 A user commented that this was a tight fit for his X axis rods. We like it that way! You may need an 8mm drill bit to debur the rod holes. 1/22/17 I added a 10mm x and 10mm y version that someone modified. I haven't tested myself, but will test when my hollow 10mm x axis rods arrive. (I put this on hold for a while; the 8mm rods are working fine. My machine is basically 350x350. Any bigger and 10mm rods might be better) 6.30.18 I added 2 Y carriages: 10mm Y, 8mm x axis carriage with First one named: 2.8_6.2mm_nuts_10mm_Y_carriage_.stl This one has 2.8x6.2 nut slots. The second new one added has the biggest nut slots: file name: widest Y10_X8_top_2.8_6.2_bot_2.85_6.3_.stl Top nuts 2.8mm x 6.2mm, Bottom nuts 2.85mm x 6.3mm for users with bigger nuts than mine :p 4.30.19 I'll make a separate page for the new 10mm "compact" Misumi bearing version that I just printed. Also, if you're good with supports, these can be printed upside down to make the bearing half moon print cleaner.
