Hypercube Evolution X Carriage back for 8x10mm bushings
thingiverse
I'm having to rely on CA glue to secure the bushing adapters in place, as my Hypercube Evolution's bearing clamps have given out. To my surprise, it made a significant difference, and now I'm printing an x-carriage design I came up with some time ago for use with plain bearings. These will be 10mm outer diameter, similar to the bronze bushings from Aliexpress or teflon-lined steel bushings. The holes are slightly too small, so you'll need to remove some material using a rotary tool or a piece of sandpaper. Then, press-fit the bronze bushings with an M8 threaded rod, two nuts, and two washers. Once it's in place, the x-carriage slides smoothly without any binding. I've posted a video on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITGXa5o41Qs) showing how to use these bushings. This design is intended for use with these longer bushings, but the shorter ones should also work well. You can find them on Aliexpress (https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/SF-1-0815-Oilless-bush-DU-Self-lubricating-bushing-Sintered-bush-Size-8-10-15mm/32718123143.html).
