Time to build myself a 3D printer so here it begins. This is my take on the popular Hypercube Evolution by SCOTT_3D. The 3D model was created in Fusion 360, and a preview of the design can be found here: https://a360.co/3coe67Z ### Main objectives: - A print volume of 230x230x300mm is required. - The printer size must be 390x390x600mm. ### Custom parts: - 12mm lead screws and nuts for the Z axis are used; I chose 12mm because sourcing them locally was an option. - Twelve pieces of 3030 aluminium profile, each measuring 350mm, will form the main frame. - Four pieces of 3030 aluminium profile, each measuring 600mm, will also be part of the main frame. - Two pieces of 2020 aluminium profile, each measuring 170mm, will make up the bed frame. - Another two pieces of 2020 aluminium profile, each measuring 340mm, will also form the bed frame. - Four pieces of 12mm diameter linear shafts, each 450mm in length, are needed for the Z axis. - Two pieces of 8mm diameter linear shafts, each 400mm in length, will be used for the X Axis. - Two pieces of 10mm diameter linear shafts, each 350mm in length, will serve as part of the Y axis. - One aluminium plate, measuring 260x300mm and 8mm thick, is required; a 250x250mm plate would also work just fine. > Note: this project is still in progress, and updates will be provided as it continues to evolve.
