I make only very slow progress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40GhRyhDb0o UPDATE 5, February: I finally assembled the Y axis. UPDATE 2, February 2018: The Z axis is now complete. UPDATE 19, December 2017: I started building and added a picture of the frame. UPDATE 3, December 2017: I uploaded a design change. Now, a 5-inch display will show TouchUI from OctoPrint instead of the MKS TFT32. The display connects to an Odroid C2. I even managed to let my future HEVO access NextCloud. No need to upload files anymore. The first orders are out and I expect parts for the frame to arrive soon. On demand, I will publish pictures of progress. ===================================================================== UPDATE 16, November 2017: I added more parts and a picture of my planned HEVO. To get more room for cables and bowden tube, I lifted up the top frame. So, the changed parts won't be mounted to the L brackets. Instead, I use normal M5 screws and hammer nuts. I only reduced the M6 hole in these parts to M5. M6 Screws are not needed anymore. ===================================================================== I am planning my new HyperCube Evolution. I like the design very much, but I wait for budget clearance from the finance minister. So, I used the provided Excel spreadsheet to calculate the parts and assembled them virtually in OpenScad. I wanted to know how it would work with a normal lead screw attached with a coupler to the stepper instead of using a stepper with an integrated lead screw. It didn't work so well with the sizes from the spreadsheet and the standard parts. I found a way to have a build height of 470mm with a 500mm lead screw. You need a little bit more Z extrusion length and a new Z axis linear rail bracket. This bracket prevents the bed from crashing into the motor coupler. For the 500 mm lead screw with a 470 mm build height, you will need Z extrusions with 690 mm length. In other words: add 20 mm to the length of the Z extrusions calculated by the Spreadsheet and use this part. Be aware that I haven't verified this in reality. As I will put the electronics in a room under the printer, I will add some tens of millimeter anyway. If the height of the rail clamp doesn't fit for you: There is a variable in the beginning of the scad file that allows you to adjust it.
