Hypercube Evolution Breakout Board Holder for hot end wiring
thingiverse
I designed this system to make swapping out Hotend cartridges quick and effortless, even while my printer is still under construction. To get started, simply build the carriage you need and attach it to Scott's X Carriage. Next, insert one of these dual RJ45 Ethernet connector breakout boards with a spring-loaded 8P8C connector and LED light from MDFly. Make sure to leave enough wire so that you can slide the board up to access the release screw, then you can remove the entire assembly (leaving the holder in place). Now, simply swap in your new mount, which comes equipped with its own board. Update any settings as needed and get printing. This solution isn't just for cartridge swaps - it's also a great way to tidy up your wiring. Just be sure to follow one important warning: do not use this setup for your heater cables. They require a much stronger connection due to the high amperage requirements of Ethernet cables. I created both two-hole and four-hole versions, although I haven't had a chance to test them yet - but they should work just fine in theory.
