Hypercube Evolution 2020
thingiverse
I live in an area where getting 3030 extrusion is almost impossible, so I came up with a remix of the HyperCube Evolution using 2020 extrusion instead. The missing parts will remain the same as those posted by Scott. The design calls for 8mm linear rail on both X and Y axes. Since I haven't printed it yet due to waiting for my extrusions to arrive, if you find any errors, please let me know. UPDATES: *05-Sep:* I finally received all the parts, which fit smoothly onto the 2020 profile. The original design by Scott for Z nut holder also fits fine. *18-Sep:* I modified the idlers for 10mm rod and tweaked the Y endstop bracket to fit better with the endstop flag. Additionally, I designed a new Extruder mount that fits both min and max opto endstops. Files are available for 8mm Z rods. *13-Dec:* After a long time, I finally finished building the printer about two weeks ago. New pictures showcase the entire remix from the original HEVO. I added a TFT32 controller + MKS WiFi module to the enclosure. Also, I installed LED lights that indicate when either E0 or the Heatedbed is working. All the designs for the parts used are available for download. I also attached two LED stripes that can be controlled via the MKSTFT32 and a runout filament sensor to prevent runouts during long prints. It's worth mentioning that I remixed the spool holder from @bliatun (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2084843) and @rowokii (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:767317). *19-Jan:* I redesigned the Extruder Mount to address a problem with the original version, where the brass knurled inserts were not securely attached to the plastic. In this new design, the inserts are placed at the back of the piece, allowing for tighter screws without any issues. *3-May:* The mods continue... I added new electronics, including an MKS Sbase 1.3 with its mount bracket (available for download). My Hevo2020 now features a Drakon Extruder by @AxMod3DPrint (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2172854), which was necessary to achieve smoother filament flow without skipping steps. *31-May:* Dual extrusion has been achieved! After struggling with SW and HW, I finally got my HEVO 2020 Multimaterial working smoothly. I added a TL-Feeder and a new filament sensor that fits Drakon Extruders. *26-Jun:* Frustrated with the capacitive sensor for Z-Probe, I decided to switch it to a mostly flawless TLTouch (BLTouch clone). The mount for this piece simply fits in place of the inductive sensor without requiring any changes to already printed parts.
