Hypercube Corner Raisers

Hypercube Corner Raisers

Recently I went to print a model that was 171mm tall, but I realized too late that I didn't want it to be so tall when building the hypercube. Luckily, I spotted something Tech2c might have missed: if you raise the top 2020 extrusion above the vertical extrusions and remove the 20mm internal corner brackets, you gain an extra 40mm of space and a potential 40mm of extra build height. I hit another snag when attaching the corner brackets - they only allow for half of the gained space because of the XY joiner. The 10mm aluminium tube runs right below the top length of extrusion, so I'm currently redesigning the XY joiners to let the tube run inside the frame. As soon as I know they work, I'll release the files. For now, I can offer you a free 20mm of build height! You have two options: one replaces all corner brackets and the other replaces two with metal corner brackets on the top inside section between the X and Y extrusions. Installation: Unbolt the top frame, move the XY assembly up 20mm using the 20mm metal corner brackets as a reference. Place the corner raisers on the Z 2020 extrusion and tighten them in place. Finally, bolt the X and Y extrusions back in.
