A modular and versatile print head design for (but not limited to) HyperCube evolution and E3D V5/V6 Volcano, or regular. Updates *** 22/03/2020 - added Fusion 360 CAD files for the full assembly 22/03/2020 - added support for Bigtreetech Dual Color or Mix Hotend 14/03/2020 - added endoscope camera mount Features *** Easy tool change: - the entire print head can be secured safely to the X-axis carriage with just one M3x12 screw - the E3D extruder can be removed without detaching the entire print head using 2x M3x10 screws - both connectors (carriage->print head and print head->extruder) provides a rigid connection designed to avoid any oscillations during print - generic carriage connector design allows creating or adapting new or existing tool-heads for this X-carriage Fans and extruder: - supports E3D Volcano and regular-sized extruder - each of the fans (front, side-left, side-right) can be removed from the print head for service or replacement - uses the less noisy 40mm front fan Bed leveling: - built-in ergonomic support for 12mm inductive or capacitive ABL - ready for BL-Touch (print head plate has 18mm screw-in holes for mounting the device) - offset from nozzle to probe is X:0mm Y:-30mm Printing light: - built-in space for mounting front LEDs or interior LEDs (you can connect 12V LEDs in parallel with the fans) Endoscope camera: - support for endoscope cameras (camera should be at most 7.5mm thick) Esthetical: - no screws visible when completely assembled - magnetic top cover to hide cables Versatile: - X-axis carriage presents multiple connection points for future accessories Dual-color hotend *** For the Bigtreetech Dual hotend extruder, print the following parts: * Head_DualBGT_MainPlate (instead of Head_MainPlate) * Head_DualBGT_Front (instead of Head_Front_40mm_Fan) * don't print the Head_Extruder_Lock part (which is necessary only for E3D hotends) * use the side fan mounts Head_Left_Turbo_Fan and Head_Right_Turbo_Fan (not the ones designed for Volcano hotends) The rest of the parts stay the same. Requires *** - M3 x 12 mm screws - M3 x 10 mm screws - 5mm x 5mm x 5mm brass inserts - 5mm x 5mm x 5mm cylindrical magnets for top cover - 2 x 40 mm turbo fan (part cooling) - 1 x 40 mm fan (cold end cooling) Printing *** Most of the parts have supports built-in, so no supports are required. It is recommended to activate support material only for the X-carriage, as it has a section requiring a long bridge to be printed. Print with: 0.2 mm layer height, 30-35% infill, 0.4 mm nozzle. PLA will work, but PET will be preferred as it copes better with high temperatures. Enjoy
