Finally finished working on my first designed 3D printer. I used a great design of the HyperCube 3D printer by Tech2C as a starting point. The printed volume size is roughly between that of the HyperCube and HyperCube Evolution, measuring L300xW200xH250 mm. Design priorities were as follows: 1. Safety: designing an enclosed printer with hidden electrical and heated elements to prevent little fingers from accidentally touching something they shouldn't. 2. Cost-effectiveness: using affordable yet reliable parts to keep costs down within my budget. 3. Maximizing building volume while keeping external dimensions relatively small, allowing the printer to fit on a limited-size table during operation and storage when not in use. 4. Avoiding two-sided heated bed support like larger volume beds (found in HyperCube Evolution). 5. Creating a simple and reliable 3D printer that's easy to use without intense maintenance needs. 6. Aesthetic design. To build the printer, I designed a 3D model using Autodesk Inventor software. You can find native Inventor assemblies and STEP files for both the enclosed and regular versions of the printer at https://grabcad.com/library/hypercube-bluebeast-3d-printer-1. I'm referring you to this external site because you can view the 3D model in your browser without downloading it, and even take measurements – something that's not possible here. Key features of my design include: * CoreXY kinematic system * Printing area of 200x300x250mm * Silicon 220v heater for super-fast preheating of the printing bed * Enclosed printer with acrylic 3mm panels * Enclosed ventilated electronics chamber at the bottom * LED strips for lighting the printing area, with a switch button * Based on Arduino Mega with Ramps 1.4 * Frame made of aluminum 20x20mm profiles * Bowden extruder * External USB connection for updating firmware * External dimensions L540xW400xH500 mm * External Spool Holder Folding If you're looking to build a DIY 3D printer yourself, you may find some useful solutions in my design – just as I found inspiration from other creative people. Have a great day! P.S. Sorry for not publishing all STL files for now; I'm not sure anyone needs them (and I don't have the time to spend on it right now).
