Hyperboloid Chess Set

thingiverse

Chess set made from interlocking hyperboloid shapes requires precision printing for its intricate geometry. Three different knight models are provided to adapt to varying print setup needs. They include: no support material; a thin strip under the nose for FDM machines, removable post-printing; and wider supports in case initial designs cause difficulties. Follow these instructions carefully to ensure your printed chess set looks amazing. Before starting the printing process: Choose 1.75 mm PLA filament to bring this model to life. Use a 0.2 mm layer height setting for an even texture and accurate reproduction of intricate details. To add stability to bases, opt for 0.2 density infill. Make all struts solid. However, stringing can be an issue at present. Print settings are being experimented with to minimize this occurrence in the final product.
