Hyper Integrated Z axis
thingiverse
This text is a combination of various ideas, primarily inspired by triffid_hunter's design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12151). The redesigned part features a Z motor lift similar to ROTORIT's creation (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12620). Additionally, it includes a 608 bearing to keep the z leadscrew in place and arms that support a Wade-style extruder. To use this part, print two of them, and you can choose between different combinations (AA for one mount at the back and one in front, or AB for both on the same side). You can also opt for NoArms if you don't need extruder mounts. To assemble, insert a 608 bearing into the mount, add lock nuts to the leadscrews while ensuring motors float above the mount but within its walls. This allows for motor movement without affecting the z-screws. For minimal backlash when the Z reverses, build up the sides of your motors with Kapton tape. The SCAD file is "parametrish" and requires MCAD (https://github.com/elmom/MCAD/zipball/master). Have fun!
