Was facinated by the shape and wondered how it would behave in lasercut plywood. Unfortunately, so far, I couldn't face the math challenge of finding the proper dimensions through space equations.. Picking 1,5 mm thick plywood, I took alecs file and enlarged it, scaling it by 1,6/1,2 to meet the desired groove width. Then I carefully transfered all the dimensions into a new file. dxf goes to the laser cutter, I added a STL file just in case somebody wants to print one in 3d. You build it flat, starting by the central cross then the four external biggest. It springs itself from flat to its minimal energy curvature and this burst is very satisfying. Then only I added the string to increase the curvature. Thanks Alecs It is a very satisfying building operation. Please post your makes.
