This shield presented a challenge for several reasons. First, I had to discover methods to make parts of the mesh protrude outward. The triangles and four-sided polygons proved relatively straightforward, whereas the metallic studs were much more demanding to replicate accurately. Initially, I employed the boolean modifier to cut out a hole, then created faces on both the top and bottom surfaces of the hole. Next, I inset the face at the top of the hole and scaled it downward in order to achieve a smoother appearance. Although I was satisfied with the overall model's outcome, the texture failed to meet my desired level of crispness. On my next project, I intend to hone my texturing skills and incorporate all the techniques I've learned thus far into my workflow.
