Hylian Sheild Case For the Nintendo Switch
thingiverse
This is a Nintendo Switch carrying case that touches the Switch only on the rails! I put a Hylian Shield design on the front for added protection, giving my Switch an extra layer of security. A Nintendo Switch logo version has also been added, and to make customization easier, I've included a black version so users can create their own versions. The case has been updated with a slide-over top that features a hole for the power cord to plug through. In response to numerous reddit suggestions, I've created a version with a convex shield design. I designed this case because I'm planning long road trips with my Switch and need something durable to protect it. To further safeguard my console, I'll be sewing a small drawstring bag to wrap it in. I plan on releasing a second version that's slightly taller, allowing for a sliding top that seals the case. This design could also be modified into a more permanent case with a hole for the screen in the back and rails for the Joy-Con controllers on the sides. The new version will slide in upside down. This case was printed in White Hatchbox PLA at 216C using my QIDI Tech I printer, set to a 60-degree bed angle. Due to its tesselated design, the slide cover must be printed on the side and requires supports during printing. Print Settings: Printer: QIDI Tech I Rafts: Doesn't matter Supports: No Resolution: .2 mm Infill: 10% Notes: Ten percent infill provides a strong case, but increasing it would make the material less flexible. My print took 7 hours and 50 minutes to complete.
