Hylia Shield coaster
thingiverse
A coaster resembling a shield from a well-known video game series. I created it with Inkscape and FreeCAD. If you want to do a multi colored print like in the photo (sadly I didn't have red filament, so copper had to do), then you can do so relatively easily with Cura:the stl file has a height of 2.8 mm and is intended to be printed in 0.2 mm layers with pauses at the layers 7, 9 and 11 to change the filamentto insert a pause in the gcode, you can use the option "Post Processing" -> "Modify G-Code" in Curain this menu, insert 3 "Pause at height" actionshere you should select "Pause at" "Layer Number" (see screenshot) and the layer you want to seclect here as "Pause Layer" is the one where you want to print with the new filamentif you use the intended settings (2.8 mm height and 0.2 mm layer height) you should enter 7, 9 and 11 here respectivelyas "Method" you need to select something that works with your printer (you may need to experiment with this a bit if you don't know what works)I use OctoPrint, so I select "Repetier/OctoPrint" herealso enable "park print" and set the X Y coordinates so that the print head is not above the modela bit of retraction and some Z height might be usefulwhile printing, you need to keep an eye on the progress and when your printer pauses, change the filament and afterwards "resume" the printthe colors should be ordered like this: start with blue for the base, then comes red for the "bird", followed by yellow/gold for the logo and silver/grey for the rest
