Hylas and the Water Nymphs

Hylas, an Argonaut warrior and trusted assistant of Hercules, stole the hearts of everyone with his breathtaking good looks. In the famous tale of Jason and the Golden Fleece, Hylas' beauty was so captivating that it led to his disappearance without a trace. When Jason's ship landed on a mysterious island during their epic quest, Hylas was tasked with fetching water for the crew. While searching for a suitable spot, he stumbled upon a serene pool in a secluded clearing and carefully placed his pitcher into the calm waters. But just as he reached to lift it up, he caught sight of a group of water nymphs surrounding him, their eyes fixed on his stunning features. Hylas' heart skipped a beat as one of the nymphs was drawn to his beauty, she rose up from the depths and leaned in to plant a kiss on his lips. The rest of the story remains a mystery, but it's said that Hercules frantically searched the island for his beloved Hylas, even going so far as to wait for him despite the passing of time.
