I recently bought a pack of mini battery-powered hygrometers/thermometers to keep track of the conditions around my 3D printer (non-affiliate Amazon link, currently $15.99 for 8 of them). This model is a small mount that can hold a small circular object while connecting to one of the hexagon-shaped holes at the top of a Prusa i3, called the Z-axis-top parts.Modifications (change any dimension easily)The Fusion 360 project is provided; it contains parameters that can be tweaked to create derivatives for objects of different sizes (see 4th image attached for an example). You can change:the height of the bottom or top part of the hex mount (above or below the bend)the angle at which it bendsthe angle at which the bottom part widens at it rises – this is used to make it a tiny bit wider at the top so that it fits well in the holethe width and depth of the “cup” in which to place the mounted objectthe thickness of the cup's outside wallPrintingPrint the hex mount standing, without supports.Print the round “cup” with its base flat on the print bed, with supports only from the print bed. You could probably get away with printing it without supports, but I haven't tried it.I printed both in PLA with 0.2mm layer height.AssemblyI suggest using superglue to connect the hex-shaped mount to the round base. There is an indentation for the two to connect, but its depth is limited by the thickness of the “floor” of the round base. They can stick together with just friction, but won't be able to hold anything heavy such as a battery-powered object. I would recommend glueing them.
