Hello fellow gardeners! ===================================================== (Getting started with German text below videos soon) I'd like to introduce you to my concept of soilless urban gardening. The entire System is based on modular, interchangeable components (such as pumps, sump tanks, etc.) and delivers the necessary parts in STL formats. Firstly, let's explore why I built this or why you should follow suit and build one too? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, our lives are increasingly demanding. Everyone is stressed, leading to more people with no time for standard soil-based farming or gardening. Hydroponics offers a solution that addresses multiple issues at once. You'll need less time to care for your plants, less space, and it doesn't require soil. For a basic system, you'll need a reservoir and an alternative medium like clay pebbles or rockwool. This method is called the Kratky method, but I find it's not the most efficient option. I've combined two effective ways to grow: NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) and Ebb & Flow, also known as Flood & Drain. To minimize power consumption, I placed the NFT rails above the flood & drain bed. This allows me to use a single 15W, 1500L/hr pump that circulates the nutrient solution through my NFT system. After traveling about 5 meters, it flows directly into the flood & drain bed, filling it up to 80% until the bell siphon kicks in and drains the solution again. To replicate my system, I'll provide you with a parts list and some build images. Feel free to ask questions anytime!
