I designed a 6" hydroponic grow media mesh heart pot specifically for my DIY DWC deep water culture bubble bucket project. I carefully crafted four holes at the top of the net mesh lip to secure it in place, after punching a hole through the 20L 5-gallon bucket lid, ensuring the net stays put as plants grow bigger and making it easier to tend to them by preventing the net from being pulled out from the cut opening.
