This variation of a stable base for a hydrometer sampling jar minimises waste and provides a tight press fit around the end cap and a narrower top for insertion of the clear tubing to mate with the cap, resulting in a very snug watertight seal using the hydrometer's original case and cap. The dimensions of this base are for the 26 cm Alla France hydrometer with case measurements of 30 mm diameter end cap (5 mm height) and 26 mm tube. The base diameter is 8 cm. With scaling it can be manufactured for a case of any other dimensions.
