Hydrogen Security Flashback
thingiverse
Hello fellow. This device is ideal for your home experiment about security in Hydrogen made by electrolysis. It holds a flashback to the place where flammable gas is generated, as shown in the description picture. I have personally tested this device with Hydrogen and Acetylene, and I find it pretty wonderful. However, knowing that people struggle with that part, and having experienced my own failures - including exploding a Hydrogen tank right in front of me - I decided to create this security device and share it with you. This device is composed of four parts: two "Couvercle vissable base gaz" and "Type 1 et 3 vis de couvercle vissable gaz," which fit together for the flashback. The long tube is the gas inlet, while the second hole is for the outlet. Gravity holds back water on the bottom, and the long tube must be submerged at least four centimeters below the water level to create bubbles that prevent direct contact if the gas ignites. The more water there is, the less will burn and may explode if confined in case of a flashback. If you don't have a bottle, you can simply print the "Type 2 couvercle vissable bouteille," which serves as a bottle for bubbling, and you won't need to print "Type 1 et 3 vis de couvercle vissable." Both tools allow you to parameterize your file according to your needs. To assemble the device, simply take a jar and drill a hole with a diameter of 35 or 36 mm at the lid. Use glue or sealant between the two parts when screwed together to ensure they are perfectly sealed. The "COuvercle vissable basecable, gaz" is specifically designed for use in the generating case where you produce your hydrogen, featuring three holes: one large hole for attaching a tube for gas flow, and two small holes for cabling with positive and negative terminals for electrolysis. Be sure to use a decent cable diameter if you have multiple plates with extensive surface area to avoid overloading. This part fits snugly inside the "Type 1 et 3 couvercle vissable" container. I hope these inexpensive tools make your hydrogen and other flammable gas projects more accessible and friendly. If this device has helped you or you find it interesting, please hit like. I'm open to any questions you may have.
