Hydro Alpha - Printable Rc Hydroplane Boat

HydroAlpha is a speedy hydroplane RC boat project that's moving at lightning speed. The boat measures 50 centimeters in length, and it's still under development, so stay tuned for updates! ---03/05/2019--- I've successfully printed the two lateral parts with ease, requiring no support whatsoever. These parts were made from PLA with an infill of 10% cubes at a quarter setting, two perimeter layers, and a layer height of 0.3 millimeters. Next time, I might try reducing the infill to 5%, but these pieces look incredibly strong and lightweight, weighing in at just 100 grams each. To assemble the parts, I used epoxy glue, which worked seamlessly. A note-worthy mention is that CA Glue didn't quite work as well with PLA, so I'd recommend sticking with epoxy for this project. ------------------------------------- -----------05/05/2019----------- The printing process is complete! The finished product looks fantastic, but it needs a bit of tweaking to get the cover just right. As an added bonus, the boat floats perfectly! --- ----------08/05/2019---------- A new version of the cabin has been designed with an 8-millimeter shaft tube hole and supports. Now, all that's left is waiting for the electronic components. For this project, I've got my sights set on the following parts: - A 2845 brushless motor with a 5900-kilovolt rating and liquid cooling - A 150A ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) with liquid cooling - A 2S Lipo battery pack - A 10-kilogram servo - Hardware components, including: - A 3-millimeter shaft - An 8-millimeter shaft tube with bearings - A universal joint - A 35-millimeter propeller - Tube and nozzles for cooling the motor - A 75-millimeter rudder (I might design one myself, but I think metal would be a better option) That's it!
