A hydraulic spring, also known as a hydro-pneumatic spring, is a device that uses fluid pressure to provide a restoring force. It consists of a closed chamber containing a compressible fluid, such as oil or water, and a movable piston within the chamber. When the pressure on the piston changes, it causes a change in the volume of the fluid, which in turn generates an equal and opposite force in response to the applied load. This makes hydraulic springs ideal for applications where a consistent and predictable restoring force is required, such as in suspension systems or shock absorbers.
