Hydraulic log splitter. I obtained a cylinder that is used as a side security support for trucks with a hydraulic arm. It was offered to use for a splitter. The cylinder has a diameter of 100mm and an internal diameter of 88mm and piston has diameter 74mm, which gives it a large thrust force and at the same time a high return speed of the piston. For a larger working volume of the cylinder, a pump of at least 50 l / min is required so that the splitting speed is acceptable too.The splitting cross is manual adjustable for logs with a diameter of up to 50 cm.Update 10/08/2021: Adding a few photos from the first test of the piston with a connection to the tractor hydraulics. It works as expected, so I can start making the metal body of the splitter.
