A hydraulic cylinder, also known as a hydraulic piston or simply a hydrolic, is a mechanical actuator that uses fluid power to generate force and movement. It consists of a cylindrical housing containing a plunger, which is connected to an output mechanism such as a piston rod. When hydraulic fluid under high pressure is introduced into one end of the cylinder, it forces the plunger to move, thereby creating linear motion that can be used for various purposes like lifting or pushing loads.
