Hydra remix for Brass threaded inserts
thingiverse
I took Boothy's incredible Hydra fan duct system and made some significant modifications. I didn't have access to M3 Nylocks, but had a large supply of 5mm diameter threaded brass M3 inserts available. So, I customized Boothy's design by adding extra material where the Nylock used to be and replaced them with space for the inserts. I've only included the main part that I modified for brass inserts; you can get the rest of the design (and instructions) from Boothy's main page: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4062242 There is one location where I was unable to use a brass insert, an inside corner of the side duct mount. Fortunately, this area is over-engineered, so one Nylock replaced by a regular M3 nut isn't a significant issue. I used Boothy's original print settings: All parts printed in PETG at 0.2 layer height, 30-40% infill and 3 perimeters. These are the inserts used: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PMZCP23/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VH3XLFG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Use the M3x6x5 size (6mm deep, 5 mm OD).
