10/20/19 Revised palms and whipples to boost performance. RECOMMENDED UPGRADE. 10/8/19 Elastic holes in digits are resized for a better fit. 10/6/19: Corrected Palm D to proper bolt head size, sorry about the mistake! These designs are highly adaptable for various terminal device applications. As a standalone, fingers can be closed by either wrist, electric, or elbow-actuated systems. If desired, makers can transform this design into a pure Gripper-style hand (elastic pivot thumb connected to rigid fingers) or active fingers attached to a rigid thumb (Snap Talon style) by simply gluing the necessary parts in place with CA (superglue). For elbow and electric actuation, a standard 1/2" Fine thread 1" bolt is used as a connector that screws into a matching size nut on the arm end. A flexible gasket, such as an o-ring, should be placed between the two fittings for shock absorption and a secure grip when fully tightened. This setup may change if more advanced connection systems become available. For wrist activation, print flexible hinges that fit Hybrid Gripper Wrist Talon files between the palm and thermoform gauntlet. TPU is a suitable material for hinges, O-rings, and thumb loops. See post-processing instructions for further details. Four basic sizes are included: A (child size), B (small adult), C (adult), and D (larger adult). Each size is 10% larger than the one below it.
