HVAC Blower
thingiverse
This was a highly detailed version of an HVAC blower I designed, with an actual wheel diameter of 20 inches in real life. https://youtu.be/_26Szj1rbzs I printed all parts using identical settings, including a layer height of 0.2mm and 20% infill, and used brim when I encountered trouble with parts curling off the bed, mainly on the frames. The motor was sourced from Digikey, part number 1597-1210-ND, then I designed the motor housing to fit it perfectly with a small dip switch. To power the motor, I used two 12V A23 batteries inside. For the bearings, I selected 7/8" OD with 3/8" ID, which are not always readily available in many places. I created a belt using elastomer filament by printing a single circle of the correct size. Next, I superglued all the parts together to form a complete unit. To ensure perfect symmetry, I mirrored the STL files in Cura for both sides of the wheel, scroll housing, and frame sides required. Additionally, various bushing STL files are included so you can adjust your fan RPM as desired or use a potentiometer to control the motor speed by mounting it through the hole in the motor cap.
