Hi there! This is my inaugural project. It was originally designed for Huxley and allows users to easily install nema17 motors on the standard Z-axis nema14 motor mounts, which comes in handy when working with these systems. The mount itself serves as a second-level adapter for easy maintenance of the existing setup. I discovered that it also accommodates the X-axis motor with no modifications needed! The modified mount elevates the motor 12mm upward and tilts it 45 degrees, making M6 nuts on the frame easily accessible for repairs or replacement. To enhance this project's compatibility with the X-axis, I incorporated an 8mm variant of the adapter. All that is required for installation is drilling new 4mm holes in the original nema14 mount, which can be secured using 30mm x M4 screws for added stability. Meanwhile, a short span of 10-15mm M3 screws are perfect for attaching the nema17 motor securely to its new adapter, effectively optimizing system integration. Editing update: After printing and successfully implementing the design in my setup, I can confidently confirm that it functions flawlessly and meets its intended purpose with seamless compatibility on both the X and Z axes.
