Various sized thread spool caps designed specifically for a Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 Sewing/Embroidery Machine are now available. 20mm, 22mm, 24mm, 26mm & 28mm thread spool caps can be easily made at home. A suitable replacement was not found in stores, so the decision was made to create custom spool caps. The design is based on a basic template provided by Gerald_E and modified using TinkerCAD software. The center base hole of each cap measures 5.45mm, but this size is still too small to fit over the spindle. To fix this issue, a 7/32 drill bit should be used to enlarge the base hole. However, it's essential not to drill all the way through the design; only the 3mm base needs to be enlarged. These custom thread spool caps can be made for just $.04 in plastic and some electricity, which is significantly cheaper than purchasing them at retail price of $13 each.
