The tires on my Automower were worn out, and the mower had lost traction. I decided to try printing my own replacements because I can do just that. They've turned out really well so far, but the true test lies ahead - a field test started May 15th. So far, everything is going smoothly. To print these tires on my Ender 3, I needed to design them in segments, breaking down each tire into three parts: 120-degree pieces that fit together around the wheel. The bottom and top segments are identical, except for one locator pin on an outside segment that prevents the wheel from rotating when assembled. Radially, these segments click securely together; axially, they're held by a combination of the wheel cover and a screw. I printed each tire using PLA with 0.3 mm layer height and 20% infill. The durability of PLA in outdoor environments is still unknown to me (ABS would be a more suitable choice). Unfortunately, the design isn't solid either - it might wear down quickly.
