Hurst Styled Shift Knob for Mustangs

Hurst Styled Shift Knob for Mustangs

thingiverse

I designed this shift knob for my Mustang from scratch while gazing at a Hurst Shifter picture. It should closely match its appearance. This shift knob is built with a M12-1.25 thread size which I believe is common among shift levers. You'll need two of them for the complete setup. Holding it loose makes my fingers awkwardly separated due to the post, so I'm working on an alternate where it comes down from the top in one piece to the base that takes the nut, similar to a real Hurst Shifter. I'd like you to print and provide feedback as to changes needed. I have yet to install mine since I just printed it today but will post a video later. First insert a single M12-1.25 nut into the bottom of the knob's space. Then, tighten one on to the shift lever. The two should face and be positioned in proper alignment with the knob, which you then attach after making adjustments for height. I will upload pictures after completing my install. Printing this design called for support material around the large base post on the print plate as I place it below at start.
