The lamp's unique appearance now owes solely to the switch from a hollow glass design to a fully solid model, rendering it compatible for printing with Slic3r's spiralize setting. Obtain the foundation from the original design here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:498710 Printed on Reprapper using natural PLA, the base then received a metallic gold spray paint coating. The dimensions were adjusted to accommodate an LED tea light acquired from Pound World. Instructions Slic3r was used to slice the lamp glass with one perimeter layer enabled, spiralize setting chosen. No top or bottom layers were printed. The model size was increased by 80% for better visibility during printing. Slic3r's default settings were maintained for speed and quality. 25mm/s, bed temperature of 55ºC, print temperature of 205ºC. The base underwent slicing in Cura with 2mm perimeter walls to support its structure, ensuring no overhang failure occurred. Top and bottom layers were printed at a height of 1mm each. To minimize weight, infill percentage was set to 0%. A size increase of 55% was implemented for a snug fit on the print bed. 20mm/s speed, bed temperature maintained at 60ºC. Post-print treatment included gold paint coating using a cheap spray can purchased from local shops. As the adhesive dried, an LED tea light from Pound World was securely inserted. Finally, a mixture of hot melt glue held together the base, lamp glass and the small electric candle. The selected nozzle size is 0.35mm with e3d v6 being my chosen hotend option for this task.
