Clive Waddington, Aron Mazel and Ben Johnson uncovered a prehistoric, intricately carved portable rock during the excavation of Hunterheugh in 2004. Cataloged as 'Hunterheugh 1 Excavation Portable 3' on the Beckensall Archive (BA), this artifact was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008 with a detailed description: \nThis ancient sandstone slab features numerous cracks and fissures, along with a shallow cup bearing visible peck marks that appear unfinished due to an undefined edge. The dimensions of the cup measure 0.06 m by 0.05 m by 0.005 m deep, showcasing very clear peck marks in certain areas. \nERA & BA info can be accessed at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=1880\nThe model showcases the carved surface as captured through imagery taken by NADRAP Team 2 in May 2006, which was part of the NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
