This prehistoric, expertly crafted portable rock was unearthed during a meticulous excavation at Hunterheugh by renowned archaeologists Clive Waddington, Aron Mazel, and Ben Johnson in 2004. Cited as 'Hunterheugh 1 Excavation Portable 2' on the prestigious Beckensall Archive (BA), it is meticulously described as: \n‘Side 1 showcases a solitary cup with the evident peck marks still intact, while side 2 exhibits a scattered assortment of peck marks.’\nThe record was carefully added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008.\nERA & BA info: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=1879\nThis model simply depicts the skillfully carved surface with the singular cup and is created from high-quality imagery captured by the NADRAP Team 2 in May 2006. The images were part of the NADRAP archive, which was generously deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
