The majestic ring fountain in Strzelce Opolskie, formerly known as Groß Strehlitz, stands proudly before the town hall, serving as a lasting symbol of the city's rich heritage. A striking sculpture of a skilled hunter and four agile frog figures adorn the fountain, adding to its grandeur. In addition to the spacious central pool, the original design featured four smaller pools on either side, although these are no longer utilized as water features in modern times. According to local lore, the hunter figure is said to commemorate the city's namesake, which is derived from the Polish word "Strzelec," meaning "hunter." Crafted by renowned artist Peter Lipp in 1929 at the behest of the Magistrate of Groß Strehlitz, this bronze masterpiece was meticulously constructed by the skilled artisans of the Gliwice Cabinet Office. The fountain proudly stands on the historic ring, situated before the town hall's entrance area, a testament to the city's storied past and its enduring spirit.
