Human: Bony framework of the right pectoral fin of a humpback whale, Megaptera novaeangliae (specimen NPS P12PS00972), is on display at the National Park Service in Glacier Bay, Alaska. The skeletal specimen highlights forelimb anatomy through colorful elements. Jaimi Gray, part of the oVert team, created this scene using mesh files downloaded from Morphosource. Since the carpal bones were missing, their approximate size, number, and location was reconstructed in Blender. Mesh files and carpals were arranged and colored in Meshlab. The Idaho Virtualization Lab provided access to these data through Digitization PEN: oMEGA - Online Metrology of Extant Giant Animals for the oVert TCN: tinyurl.com/oVertwiki. Funding for this collection came from NSF ARC-1023321. The mesh files for the entire skeleton are available at Morphosource https://www.morphosource.org/Detail/SpecimenDetail/show/specimen_id/5144
