The proportions are likely skewed as a result, but I suspect that to bring it to life accurately, you'd need to split it down the middle, separating head and tail, then printing with the flat cut faces facing downwards. Despite any potential imperfections, this piece should scale remarkably well, pushing your printer's capabilities to their limits.
