Hummingbird Fountain Riser
prusaprinters
I saw a Youtube video from a lady that made a DIY hummingbird fountain and thought it was very creative. The only issue was I thought the 2 liter pop bottle at the top did not look the best. So, I used my remedial skills to create this gem. It has a 7/16th inch (11.5mm) slightly angled hole to hold the 5/16th inch inner diameter tube that connects to the pump. The pump and some other items are linked in the video. I went to Walmart and purchased the small gray wastebasket and plastic plates. I used JB Weld 2-part epoxy to glue the plates to each other and then before pressing together put a thick bead of clear silicon around the edge where the plates are adhered together. My thought was this would keep the water from leaking when it is draining from the top through these 2 layers of plates. Have fun.TIP 1- Scuff up the plate and the bottom of the print with sandpaper to get the epoxy to grip good.TIP 2- Use fuzzy skin so the birds can cling to it better.TIP 3- PETG for sun resistance.
