Hummingbird feeder perch adapter

<p>I have a bunch of hummingbird feeders and most have a perch for the hummingbirds. I was looking at one of the nice feeders I have and realized it lacked a perch. I figured I would design one in the hopes that it might make the feeder easier to use and/or more desirable for the hummingbirds. It was designed for a feeder that is 118 mm in diameter around the base and can probably work for a feeder that is a little larger. You can try to scale it up and down to fit your feeder, but you may change the distance for the hummingbirds in a way that makes it unusable, so be careful. Scaling will probably also affect the fit of the screw.</p><p>This model was designed to need an M3 screw to tighten it to the base, the length of the screw will depend on the base you are attaching the perch to. I ended up using a 16 mm M3 screw for mine.</p><p>I advise that you print this with a material that will stand up to the elements. I used PETG but TPU or an ABS like material would probably be even better. Happy printing!</p><p>Update 17/9/22:</p><p>I added another version that is designed to go onto a Grateful Gnome hummingbird feeder. Grateful Gnome's feeders are blown glass feeders and they look super cool, but I think the hummingbird perch design they utilized is very flawed. I have a friend who has one and the hummingbirds won't use it. I bought a couple and it looks to me like the perch they designed might actually impede the hummingbirds from using the feeders. So I ripped the perch off of mine with some large pliers (being careful not to damage the rest of it) and then printed my own that the hummingbirds definitely do like to use. Feel free to use it if you need!</p>
