Humidity/Temp Sensor Mount Sterilite 20qt Gasket Box

I purchased some very inexpensive humidity/temp sensors from Amazon and wanted a way to mount them in my Sterilite 20qt Gasketed Storage Boxes for my filament. This is the solution I came up with. It's a snap ring style design that presses into a hole you cut and the back snap ring holds in place tight to the box. I have included a drilling template to help with position and layout lines to drill instead of having to cut and crack the box. (you may have to free up the tabs gently with a blade if necessary) - Ring should be placed flat and printed with the receiver for the clips away from the bed. - Drilling Template has arrows that should face up when placed. You can mirror the STL if you want to use the template to place the sensor on the left side of the handle. I had much better luck printing this accurately in PLA, but my photos are of the PETG example I printed and installed. Installation Directions: Place the template on the box to it's flat and against the ridge on the left and where the curve of the plastic begins on the top. I taped it in place to help mark and drill the 4 corner holes. Once the 4 corner holes are drilled I used a blade in the slots to mark the center of the drill points for the rest of the holes. I used a 2mm drill bit to drill the holes. A 15/64ths drill bit should work just as well. 1/4 should be ok, but I haven't tested. The faceplate is large enough that it should cover without issue. You will want to clean up the inside and outside of the hold as much as possible to allow the parts to sit flat ensuring a good seal on the box. It shouldn't be needed, but you could always glue the backside of the faceplate to the outside of the box for extra sealing. I am using this with the loose bead desiccant trays I created: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3587454 I included a photo of my first attempt box before deciding to make this part with a sensor without the mount in just a cut hole to show how well sealed the boxes are. Good Luck and Happy Printing!
